     The pregress of science and technology is inevitable, causing problems for humankind's survival and, at the same time, making life easier for more and more people.

     However, the main concern in this volume is not the survival of humanikind through science, but, in a general sense, human survival in spite of science, extreme rationality and rationalization. This has to do with the explorations of culture, its mechanisms, its major players.
