Carmen Valeria Baias, PhD, is associate lecturer and researcher at the Department of Philosophy and Communication Sciences, West University of Timisoara. Her research focuses on studying human activity in complex socioenvironmental systems, investigating how individual and social factors contribute to environmental issues and how social circumstances affect the individuals’ behaviour. She has participated in human wellbeing and sustainable development research, conducting pivotal social research, and generating scientific and policy-making outputs. Dr. Baias has extensive experience in methodological consulting and data analysis with several governmental agencies, NGOs, High Schools, and Universities, investigating the impact of gender, race, health, political, and economic factors on environmental action or inaction. She has participated in several projects in the UK, Italy, Switzerland, Georgia and Romania involving interdisciplinary, multicultural teams. Her research experience in British, Swiss and Romanian universities enabled her to conduct research, manage datasets, and organize learning and academic development.
